New filing leaves one school board seat unopposed
From Staff Reports
Tuesday, July 27, 2010

With Tim Johnson’s filing on Tuesday to run for the District 2 seat in the Nash-Rocky Mount school board election, four of the five incumbents find themselves facing competition. Johnson will challenge incumbent Jon Hardy, the first person to file with the Nash County Board of Elections.

The only incumbent who remains unopposed is the Rev. Robert Bynum of District 9. Bynum is the only candidate to file with the Edgecombe County Board of Elections.

The filing period for the nonpartisan election Nov. 2 will continue to remain open until noon on Aug. 6. A $60 filing fee applies.
