The second round of the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach nearly is over, but the players at the top of the leaderboard have been done for quite some time. Graeme McDowell is your leader at 3-under par. He made bogey on the final hole of the day to make the cut line at 7-over par. Tom Watson can continue playing in his final U.S. Open at Pebble Beach because of that bogey.
The story of the day was Phil Mickelson. He lit up the front nine with a 4-under par 31. He finished at 5-under par for the low round of the day. He is two strokes off the lead now for the tournament. Dustin Johnson and Ernie Els are at one under as well. Those three will be contending down the stretch for sure this weekend.
Tiger Woods had a solid round himself. He shot a 1-over par 72. He sounded extremely positive in his post-round interview, so I'm sure he'll play well Saturday. He always plays his best on Saturdays in Major championships. I would guess he's going to shoot about 3-under Saturday and finish within two shots of the lead. It looks like 2-under probably will win this tournament.
I'll be updating everyone on Twitter (FromTeetoGreen) and here throughout the day Saturday. If you have any questions or want to know about a certain player, let me know, and I'll tell you what I know.
